The Effects of Voice Behavior and Silent Behavior of Employees on Organizational Performance: Roles of Organizational Engagement and Creativity, and Moderating Effects of Turnover Experience
|
This study aims to examine effects of voice behavior and silent behavior of employees in SMMs on performance when organizational engagement and creativity are used as mediators and to investigate roles of turnover experience in a relation between the two behaviors. For analysis of this study, a total of 205 valid questionnaires were obtained and path analysis of structural equation modeling and hierarchical regression analysis were performed. According to results of the analysis, voice behavior positively affects task performance and contextual performance when organizational engagement and creativity are used as mediators. However, silent behavior reduced organizational engagement but did not have a statistically significant effect on creativity. Therefore, these imply that companies should make structural efforts to secure diverse communication channels and allow employees to freely express opinions. In addition, these imply also that career employees with turnover experience should make various efforts in order to increase organizational engagement.
